FOREIGNERS, EMIGRANTS AND IMMIGRATION LAW
Portuguese legislation states that the following visas give access to residence in Portugal:
-Residence Visa for the Exercise of Professional Activity -Subordinate (D1) - For those who come with a work promise, the work contract from Portugal.
-Residence Visa for Independent Professional Activity and for Entrepreneurial Immigrants (D2) - For those who come to carry out an independent professional activity or for those who want to make an investment here, for example, a company.
-Residency Visa for Research or Highly Qualified Activity (D3) - For doctoral students or anyone with a highly qualified profession.
-Residence Visa for Studies, Exchange of Secondary Education Students, Practices or Volunteering (D4) - For higher education students (licenciatura, máster), practices or volunteering of more than one year's duration.
-Residence Visa for Higher Education Students (D5) - For those residing in the territory of a Member State of the European Union, not applicable to Brazilian citizens.
-Family Reunification Visa (D6)
-Residence Visa for Pensioners, Religious People, People with Income (D7) - For pensioners or people who can prove that they have sufficient income to support their household.
-It also provides for a Residence Permit for
-Investment Activities (Golden Visa) - For those who make an investment in Portugal, for example acquiring a property worth 500,000.00 euros (five hundred thousand euros) or more.
-Portuguese legislation establishes who can acquire Portuguese nationality.
-The following are highlighted:
-A foreigner (of legal age or emancipated) who has been legally resident in Portugal for at least 5 years.
-A foreigner who has been married or in a de facto union for more than three years with a Portuguese person.
-Descendants of Portuguese (must have a Portuguese parent or grandparent).
-Members of communities of Portuguese descent such as India (Goa, Daman, Diu, Dadra and Nagar Aveli), Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, Macau and Timor;
-Descendants of Portuguese Sephardic Jews.
